International Master, Ravi Hegde from Karnataka won Viktor Korchnoi memorial Open FIDE Rated Chess Tournament held at hotel Paradise by scoring 8 points out of 9 rounds. Miss Abhirami Madabushi from Andrapradesh scored 7.5 points to claim 1st runner-up place while WFM Pujari Rucha from Maharastra secured 2nd runner-up position with 7points. Augustin A of SJCE won the HFGC OPEN RAPID CHESS TOURNAMENT. Hindustan First Grade College in association with Mysore Chess Center organised this one day event in Open & different age categories. The tournament was held at Hindustan First Grade College, JP Nagar, Mysuru in the memory of Dr. K.C.G Varghese. 200 Players from all parts of Karnataka State participated in this tournament. Anoushka Bhatt of Bangalore won the Karnataka state under-09 girls chess championship scoring 8.5 points from 9 rounds.
