Ravi Hegde Wins VIKTOR KORCHNOI MEMORIAL OPEN FIDE RATED CHESS TOURNAMENT

International Master, Ravi Hegde from Karnataka won Viktor Korchnoi memorial Open FIDE Rated Chess  Tournament held at hotel Paradise by scoring 8 points out of  9 rounds. Miss Abhirami Madabushi from Andrapradesh scored 7.5 points to claim 1st runner-up place while WFM Pujari Rucha from Maharashtra secured 2nd runner-up position with 7 points.  A total of 45 cash prizes worth 1.5 lakh rupees and 60 trophies had been awarded to winners in main and sub categories.

The tournament was organised by Mysore Chess Center, while Kannada online portal antekante.com has joined hand to promote the royal game of chess in royal city of Mysore. The honorable Chief Guest Mr. Jagadish- Corporator of Thonchikoppal, Mr. Vikram Das, GM of Dashprakash Group,  Mrs.Girija Narayan, Mr. Aravind Shastry, Secretary of United Karnataka Chess Association, Mr. Raghavendra, Vice President of United Karnataka Chess Association, Mr. Nagendra Muralidhar-Director of  Mysore Chess Center & Vice President of United Karnataka Chess Association and Mr.Anatharam-International Arbiter were present in the prize distribution function.
